15cm (6") embroidery hoop, inner ring bound
10cm (4") embroidery hoop, inner ring bound
Light coloured sewing thread
Light olive green sewing thread
Sharp, Fine embroidery scissors
Sharp HB pencil (a mechanical pencil it perfect)
Baking (or tracing) paper
Low tack tape
Glue stick & Tacky glue
Highly recommended, but not essential:Curved, Blunt Tip embroidery scissors
Hoop strand, weight or small clamp (To hold your hoop, allowing you both hands free)

Mother Hen is an ideal project if you are comfortable with general embroidery stitches and have a little experience with Raised Embroidery.
The idea for this plump hen nestled in a periwinkle vine with her tiny chicks was inspired by a collection of clay hens I saw when visiting a friend. Layers of felt are used to create the hen’s plump body and her head and wing are embroidered separately before being attached to the main embroidery.
The needlebook has wool felt pages to hold your needles and four practical pockets for needle packs.
