Persian Bounty is a great project if you have a little experience with raised embroidery and are looking for a project with a good variety of stitches and techniques.
The joy of raised embroidery is seeing the piece come together when all the detached elements are put in place.
I found my inspiration for this piece on a teaching trip to Thailand. The studio was in a small, lush garden filled with beautiful plants and insects. In pride of place on the front fence was a pomegranate tree, its branches heavy with beautiful, ripe fruit.
