I recommend you have a little exprience in crewel work to stitch Mountain Oak. The embroidery is worked using a wide variety of different stitches and techniques.
The Tree of Life is such an iconic motif in crewel embroidery. I have always wanted to design and stitch one of my own and a trip to the French Alps was the perfect inspiration and opportunity to do so. My Mountain Oak is very much inspired by traditional crewel embroidery. It is stitched in a contemporary palette of fresh greens and blues and I replaced the common stately stag is with a cheeky mountain goat.
The detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you step by step through the project however, you might find it helpful to have a stitch directory at hand – I always do.
