The embroidery is stitched using small selection of common embroidery stitches as well as a simple laid trellis filling which is so distinct to this type of work.

Inspired by traditional Jacobean crewel work this cheerful fantasy bloom is embroidered in aqua, blues and greens with highlights of raspberry pink. A variety of the most common crewel work stitches, including a simple laid filling are used to create texture and dimension to the design. The finished piece is the perfect size for a small small book or journal cover and would look equally lovely on a box lid or as a small framed piece.
